What Is Joule?

Joule is SAP's enterprise AI assistant, deeply integrated into SAP Concur solutions. It was built from the ground up with security, privacy, and responsibility at its core — not bolted on as an afterthought. There are two tiers:

Joule Base

Joule Base is included with your SAP Concur subscription at no additional cost. It enables your teams to navigate SAP systems, find information quickly, and complete everyday T&E tasks faster through a conversational interface. Here's what's live today:

Conversational Help Search

Natural language queries that return context-aware answers from product help content. No more hunting through documentation pages — employees ask a question and get a direct answer.

Expense Transactions

Employees can create, edit, and submit expense reports through simple, conversational prompts — reducing friction and the time it takes to close out a report.

Booking Agent

AI-guided travel booking that automatically keeps users within company policy — no manual policy lookups required. Travelers get compliant bookings with less effort.

Joule Premium

Joule Premium is the advanced subscription tier, providing high-value agentic AI capabilities. It requires Joule Base to be active first and is available as a buy-up — speak with your account representative for pricing and availability. Premium adds:

Meeting Planning Agent — coordinates travel and logistics around meetings
Expense Automation Agent — automates the end-to-end expense report process
Expense Report Validation Agent — reviews expense reports for policy compliance before submission
