Hotel Lead Rate vs Hotel Preferred Rates

Hello,

When searching for hotels, our setup is preference, then price. We just moved to New Concur (GDS is Travelport+) and now, on the hotel search results page, the hotels are showing rates 'starting at' one rate (typically a higher promo rate or best available rate) but when I click into View Rooms, the lower, negotiated rate is showing as the top rate. Example: We have a $125 ($135 with tax included) rate at a local Marriott hotel but in the hotel search results list, it shows as 'starting at $161' with a total rate of $175 with tax included. We have to click the View Rates and the first rate to show is the $125.

Our TMC continues to open tickets with Concur on our behalf and it's the same answer that the hotel is pushing a "Lead Rate" to Concur. I talk to the Marriott rep and they have no clue what a Lead Rate is or how to push through the preferred $125 rate as the "Lead Rate". How can the TMC circumvent this to show the $125 in the hotel search results page so the Marriott shows higher in the hotel search results? It is affecting all of our hotels, not just the Marriott, so is there something the TMC can set up to automatically pull the preferred rates first?

@jtrod2569 in my little bit of snooping around, I found that Lead Rates aren't anything Concur can control as it is something the Hotel pushes. I did read that we do have a plan to release a new feature that will enable customers to set their preferred sort order for hotel rates. Please refer to Monthly Release Notes for more details. I don't know if the release notes have a timeframe listed or not, but we are working on it, from what I read.

Yes! That seems to be my issue as well.

I tried looking in Travel Admin, but there were no options listed for sorting hotel search. It’s there, but no options.

I hope they add it soon!

I’d rather Concur remove that functionality altogether if it cannot be fixed because it is not returning accurate information.

There are way lower prices than the “starting at” price they are displaying.
