As leaders of global society gather in Davos, Switzerland this week for the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, they will be asking how corporations, governments, institutions, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) can come together to drive equality in the workplace, in education, and in society.

To accelerate the impact of equality initiatives across industries and society, the SAP Next-Gen program is teaming up with The Female Quotient, P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030, and other partners in Davos to advance a global equality agenda.

Partnering for Equality to Accelerate Sustainable Futures and Living

Now more than ever we depend on diverse perspectives to generate meaningful outcomes for all stakeholders in business, government, institutions, and public-private partnerships. Forward-looking leaders across industries are committing to achieve equal representation and opportunity in the workforce and in leadership. Boardrooms are increasingly reflecting the streets we walk on.

“Leading organizations are bringing women to the forefront, recognizing their thought leadership, and giving voice to their fresh approaches for tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges,” said Ann Rosenberg, senior vice president and global head of SAP Next-Gen. “Women have the opportunity to drive a new normality. Roles are being redefined. Today’s insights from female thought leaders will help bring about tomorrow’s new world where public-private partnerships accelerate solutions to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”

“To deliver market-based solutions to drive the green economy, we need the voices of female thought leaders,” said Ian de Cruz, global director, P4G – Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030. “We focus on breakthrough solutions in five sectors: food and agriculture, water, energy, cities, and circular economy. Many of our public-private partnerships are led by women, including Ana Hajduka who leads Africa GreenCo, which aims to reduce the cost of power generation to supply clean and affordable energy to millions of people in Sub-Sahara Africa.”

Transformative Conversations on Gender Equality’s Global, Economic Impact

The voices of female leaders on the forefront of change in government, industry, and non-profits will be heard in Davos at The Female Quotient’s FQ Lounge, Home of Equality @ Davos.

“The Female Quotient and SAP Next-Gen share a mission to create proactive, positive solutions for advancing equality,” said Shelley Zalis, CEO, The Female Quotient. “Equality is not a woman’s issue or a man’s issue; it’s everyone’s issue because parity benefits us all. Leaders in the FQ Lounge, Home of Equality @ Davos, will share why there is a return on equality (ROE) and how to create accountability for change.”

This is the fourth year The Female Quotient is coming to Davos, and it will again feature solution-focused panel discussions and fireside chats dedicated to addressing how to drive equality in the workplace and beyond. Hundreds of global leaders will share insights, solutions, and plans on how businesses, institutions, and governments can advance equality around the world together.

Tomorrow, SAP Next-Gen will host three sessions in the FQ Lounge, Home of Equality @ Davos:

  • “Spending Better to Change Lives” will focus on advancing women’s equality through connected commerce and builds on “Three Trillion Reasons to Spend Better: Highlighting Purposeful Purchasing and Investing in Davos,” which SAP Next-Gen is hosting today.
  • “The Power of Purpose: Leadership Lessons for Change” will concentrate on how purpose matters and how marketing leaders can activate movements with their customers and partners to accelerate the impact of technology for good.
  • “Sustainable Citizen Heroes/Creativity: Celebrating Female Visionaries in Fashion and the Arts” will celebrate and recognize the achievements of extraordinary women who have made significant contributions to these fields.

On January 23, SAP Next-Gen will host “The Citizen Agenda for the SDGs to Drive Sustainable Living” where partners will share insights on mobilizing citizens—through sports, for example—to commit to changes that will help the world achieve the SDGs.

And, on January 24, “Science Fiction – A Starship for Innovation” will feature the launch of the new book by author Ann Rosenberg, which is an engaging look at “Innovation 4.0,” the next generation innovation methodology enabling purpose-driven innovators to unlock creativity and envision disruptive solutions that can accelerate achieving the SDGs.
