Error code ar-40000

No matter what I do when I try to book a flight I get the following error code and I'm not sure how to proceed. A search of these forums has turned up empty for this particular code so I am hoping someone has the knowledge to help me understand what this is.

 

This is my first post here so apologies if there was some forum protocol I missed for newbies.

@bauersh Hello!  I am so sorry for the troubles you are having with booking airfare.  I see you posted this on Friday, are you still having the issue?

Hello! I have the same problem, I'm not able to book my fligths. When I try to book any flight I obtain this error

@Nataliasanz are you still having this issue? If so, I recommend calling your company's travel agency to get the flight booked. Also, let them know about this error as they might need to reach out the GDS.

Hi Melanie, this is not a solution , there are no steps provided to resolve the issue, we need to understand what is causing the error ?

Please advise what the solution was as I have come across this error as well. This case states there is a solution , but there is no solution provided.

Agree we are having the same issue, doesn't seem like Concur can resolve or answer what the issue is

I have the same issue

Error message saying the booking provider as my names (first names on my passport) are too long ...

But impossible to update my traveller profile 

The box with my first names is greyed out and cannot be changed.
A headache that has already happened to me, an unbearable waste of time.

In addition, the help chatbot is useless! Is there anything I can do, or should I book by other means?

@chris2727 I tried looking up your profile to take a look at the Passport section. Question for you...did you manually enter your passport information into your SAP Concur Travel profile? I'm asking because I don't recall ever seeing the name field being locked down. That doesn't mean it can't be, I've just not seen it. Have you tried contacting your company's travel agency? They should be able to see your passport information and could tell you if it is possible to get it updated.

I think I did manually enter my first and last names and passport profile

And as ou can see below, the first names field is locked down.

I will call the travel agency tomorrow...

@chris2727 okay, that isn't the Passport section of your travel profile. If you go back to Travel Profile screen and scroll down there should be a section labeled International Travel where you can enter your passport. See my screenshots. The first screenshot is my personal information as entered into my SAP Concur profile from the site administrator. The second screenshot is further down the Profile screen where I can enter my Passport details. You can use the little Pencil icon to edit your passport details.

@KevinD OK let me let me rephrase (English is not my first language)
1) I cannot book a flight online because I'm getting an error message saying that "the name on the booking has been rejected by the booking provider. Names must not exceed 30 characters or include special characters." Link to update SAP Concur profile

2) on the SAP Concur profile, I can't update my profile, my ‘personal information’ (the only place where my first and last names appear) which seems to be a problem for booking (for some reason I don't know). It's not in the "International travel: passports and visas" area that my first and last names appear
So I'm going to stop here (because in France it's 9.35pm and I've got other things to do than waste my time and energy for that) and I'll call the agency tomorrow hoping not to encounter this type of problem again in the future... Otherwise, I'd recommend booking direct, which is simpler, more efficient and less expensive.
