Maximum number of items in a list

Is there a maximum number of values that can be in a list drop-down? We have a need to have 20k values.

Would that maximum be different if it was a single-level vs multi-level list?

@crystalreports I don't believe there is a maximum number, but there is a limit on how many items can display when a user clicks the drop-down field to make a selection.

@Webster99 I'm not sure there is a set amount. When I tested it, I saw about eight items. But, it might also depend on your monitor's display settings and resolution.
