Solving the NetSuite error: Invalid Department Reference Key for Subsidiary
- Go into your NetSuite and verify the department specified is a valid and active department.
- Verify the user from the report
- If it is a valid and active department, verify the specified department is authorized to post to the subsidiary specified. This can be done by going to the Department list in NetSuite, open the department in question and default the subsidiary.
- If it is not an active and/or valid department, either activate it or provide a replacement value for the Case Owner to use instead via case comment.
What is causing this error:
Subsidiary for each department is determined at the department profile level. Each department is assigned to subsidiary(ies) within their profile in NetSuite. Specific departments need to be authorized to post to specific subsidiaries in NetSuite at the time reports attempt to post through the connector. If a department isn't authorized to post to a specific subsidiary in NetSuite, NetSuite will return an "Invalid department reference key ___ for subsidiary ____". This error can also be caused by special characters causing a data shift.
