"unable to assign one or more of your seats" and "Airfare must be ticked by" Notifications

UPDATE: I was finally able to get a seat assignment to stick and the other notification has gone away. No idea why. 

 

Hi I have re-selected seats more than 5x but am still receiving this notice "We were unable to assign one or more of your seats." I also receive a notice with "Airfare must be ticked by" and tomorrow's date. I am assuming these notices are related. 

 

The Airfare notice appears after I re-select my seat. When I view my travel plans again a few minutes later, the "We were unable to assign one or more of your seats."  notice has re-appeared.

You don't have to tell everyone here  😉, but if you would like to Direct Message me, I would like to know which airline(s) you were booking.  I have a suspicion it was Southwest? But whether it was or not, it would be interesting for me to know so that we could take a look at why that airline might be having seat assignment issues.

It was Alaska airlines. I've only flown with them twice before and don't remember any issues.

Thank you! We will keep an eye on them to see if there are recurring issues.  It can happen that the airline systems have communication hiccups with the reservation systems, but your observation of the ticketing notice and successful seat assignment was interesting.
