Concur AI has made everything worse.

Hey Team,

I started concur back in 2013,  I used to brag about it for its simple use and even got one of my companies to join.

I used to be able to take a pic of my receipt, send it to the concur email, and then at the end of month all the charges were there and VERY easily able to match them up.  8 expenses, 8 pictures.  10 minutes.

The new AI inspired system, 8 true credit card expenses, 8 pending transactions that expenseit creates,  5 wrongly read receipt transactions.  Then, none of the pictures will match any of the true credit card expenses,  we are unable to detach the pictures for whatever reason now, and also deleting the expense no longer puts your image back into concur.  I am baffled on how long this all took this months report, what a mess.

In 2025,  I wish it was out of my life.

  1. The expenseit doesnt work properly, well it works when its turned OFF.  it doesnt turn off.
  2. I now have a forced default allocation that I have no idea how it got in there or how to change it.
  3. Sending receipts by email now creates a "pending transaction" creating either false charges cause AI cant read the proper numbers.  So now a expense will be created thru the credit card, and also a seperate charge that is "pending"
  4.  You cannot detach the pictures anymore,  something so simple is now gone.

I spent hours trying to clean up my report and the frustration on something that used to be so simple and easy is at its highest level.

These are my comments coming from a long time user.

@FortisbcK let me see if I can answer your questions. See my replies in red.

  1. The expenseit doesnt work properly, well it works when its turned OFF.  it doesnt turn off. ExpenseIt can be turned off in the mobile app by clicking your initials in the upper right, then select Settings. The Settings screen will have ExpenseIt at the top with a toggle/slider. Also, ExpenseIt is now available on the Web version of SAP Concur. This is turned off by signing in and clicking your initials in the upper right. Select Settings. Under Expense Settings, select Expense Preferences. Under "Sign me up for..." you will see a checkbox that is ticked for ExpenseIt. Uncheck the box.
  2. I now have a forced default allocation that I have no idea how it got in there or how to change it. This might be copying down from your administrative profile. If so, this isn't something you can change and is likely how your site admins set up the system. If you know who administers your company's SAP Concur site, you can ask them about this.
  3. Sending receipts by email now creates a "pending transaction" creating either false charges cause AI cant read the proper numbers.  So now a expense will be created thru the credit card, and also a seperate charge that is "pending". Sending receipts via email does this ever since ExpenseIt was activated for the web version. When only the mobile app was used for ExpenseIt, this would have been the same behavior. The system should auto-match the two items as long as the Pending item isn't sitting on a report. So, my advice is when you see anything that is Pending, do not add it to a report. Let the company card transaction upload, then it will be matched. Well, it should get matched. Give this a try. The other option is to turn off ExpenseIt for the web as described above. Then the receipt will go into your Available Receipts and not show as pending.
  4.  You cannot detach the pictures anymore,  something so simple is now gone. If you are using ExpenseIt, which it sounds like you are, images could never be detached. I think because you are emailing receipts and it is creating ExpenseIt items now instead of just putting the receipt image into your Available Receipts, you are seeing this issue. Simply turn off ExpenseIt.

In summary, I think things will become easier and more what you are used to if you turn off ExpenseIt. Just a suggestion. Personally, I keep ExpenseIt on in the mobile app and I turned it off for the web version.

Thank you,
Kevin

Thanks Kevin,  Expenseit has been turned off since it was first tried.   Thats what I meant by it works when its turned off.  I gave it a try at first but it just created more headaches.  I dont use the app and only the web. I will reach out to our team about this new default allocation.
