An allocation is the distribution of an expense across different business entities (i.e. Department, Cost Center, Division, Project, Job, etc.). It enables the user to split or bill portions of an expense to a specific business entity. For example, a user might use the allocation feature to split the cost of a training seminar to two different cost centers.
