How to cancel an approved request?

Dear Admin Group,

 

In 2024 one of our employees submitted a request with an incorrect Request End Date (ending in 2026), making the duration of the Business Trip up to 2 years. The request was approved by his CO Owner, who didn't notice the incorrect year. Later the request was Closed, but since it was not cancelled it is still marked as 'Approved'. This severely affects one of our internal processes, heavily dependant on the current valid trips. 

At the moment there is no 'Cancel' or 'Recall' button, as the request Start Date is long in the past and the request is closed. Please advise if anything can be done to cancel or recaall the request at this point and change the status?

@EG2019 you will need to re-open the request as a Request Processor. Once re-opened, you will need to send it back to the employee who submitted it as the Cancel button is only visible to end users, not Request Approvers or Request Processors. Below are the steps for re-opening. It does require a certain site setting be turned on, which is also included in the screenshot below.
