Hybrid work/WFH and mileage reimbursement

Can anyone share how you handle or your wording in your travel policy on mileage to client lunches or airport for business' travel, etc with employees who work WFH or work Hybrid.  Prior to 2020 we all worked in the office and our employees had to substance out their daily commute to the office. So they would only be reimbursed for the excess miles traveled outside of the drive to/from the office.  But with employees deciding if they want to work in the office 100%, or hybrid or WFH I just wanted to see how others handle it.  Do you still consider the office as their workplace?  Or is the employees home their workplace?

thanks,

Hi,

Did you ever receive a response to this question?

I think depends on the flexibility of your company. We reimburse travel to an event/client from whenever they originate the travel (whether that is work or home). As long as the mileage is substantiated and there is a business reason for it should be fine.
