With the ongoing climate changing we need more sustainable ways to travel.
Luckily International rail is booming and sleeper train companies are setting up new routes.
Whenever something is reachable within 8 hours by train, or 14 hours by direct sleeper train. I prefer not to fly,
not just for the environment, but also for comfort (a private cabin on a sleeper train is just way more comfortable)
However, when I fill in my profile, I can only fill in "Air travel preferences". Why is there no preference option for rail?
Furthermore, I'm an investor of European sleeper, and therefore I get a 25% discount on all travels.
So whenever I need to go to germany, the Chech Republic, Italy, Switzerland and/or soon Sweden and Spain/France I can use the european sleeper.
European sleeper isn't in the list (Eurostar is) no problem, let's use "unknown rail Vendor" yet...
Why does it show "Air" with an airplane icon?
It seems like the system is heavily biased towards plane travel and that rail is an afterthought.
IMHO rail should be the primary way to travel, and plane for those destinations that cannot be reached by rail in a timely manner.
Maybe an idea to update this? At least add a field "preferred travel mode -> plane/train/car" and make "unknown rail vendor" actually show a train icon.
