How Do You Handle Last-Minute Hotel Cancellations During Business Trips?

Hey everyone

I recently had a situation where my flight got delayed, and I ended up missing my check-in window at a hotel. They charged me for the night even though I informed them about the delay.

Just wondering how other business travelers handle this kind of situation:

  • Do you usually book hotels with flexible cancellation policies?

  • Is it worth calling ahead if you know you’ll be late?

  • Any tips on avoiding no-show charges when travel plans shift unexpectedly?

Would love to know what’s worked best for you all on the road.

@shahrukhkhan I would definitely call ahead if I knew I was going to be delayed.
