Concur Requiring Credit Card

Concur requires a credit  card added to the profile in order to do anything. Our employees do not want personal credit cards in the system and we can not add our Travel P-Card. is there a way to override this? We were told to enter a "fake" credit card number ie: 4111111111111111 but now the system tries to charge that fake credit card and it's causing issues.

@ballum may I ask who told you to enter a fake credit card? If you prefer to say in a private message, then click my username (KevinD) and then the message button. This is actually quite important for me to know.

There is no workaround. If they don't want to enter their personal cards, which is completely secure, then they will need to call your Travel agency for all bookings. Likely this will cost more money per bookings as most, if not all, travel agencies charge for over-the-phone bookings.  Hopefully your company doesn't mind the higher booking fees. 🙂

Our travel agency told us to enter this fake credit card but now the GDS system is trying to charge the fake cards instead of the ones I enter for that trip. Our credit card can not be saved in profiles due to the rules/uses of the credit card. Is there a system setting to override the mandatory credit card on a profile?

@ballum I'm glad to hear it wasn't someone from Concur who told you to enter the fake credit card. You were given bad information as the card on the user's profile is what will be charged for airfare and used to reserve cars and hotels. I'm not sure what your Travel agency thought would happen with users having fake cards on their profiles.

When you say "Our credit card can not be saved in profiles" does that mean a single credit card for the company? I'm asking because there is an option that many of our customers use which is a Ghost or Lodge Card. These are cards used to purchase items booked through Concur Travel. It is entered by your travel administrator. This tells the system to charge, for example, all airfare to this card. Using this option then makes it so individual users do not need to enter a credit card on their profile. In fact, here at SAP, we use this option. I'm a bit surprised that your travel agency didn't bring this up as it is a pretty common practice.

Other than that, I don't think there is any other option to not require a card on a travel profile. I will ask internally, but I don't think it is possible. I could be wrong though. 🙂
