GDS Low Cost Carriers Bookings

This is a curiosity question. If low‑cost carriers can be booked in a GDS (Travelport+) using an OSI payment process, why was this option turned off in nCT, leaving Travelfusion as the only way to book these carriers?

My company is reluctant to enable Travelfusion due to the additional cost and concerns about its ownership. Because of this, I’m trying to understand whether there is any possibility of bringing these carriers back into the GDS.

Thanks,
Jennifer

@Jnfr_CovTrav My Travel contact said that "Travelfusion is the more secure way to book these airlines because they go directly to the source. The way they participate in the GDS is less than ideal. We didn’t need to support two ways to handle the same process. "
