Hi, I'm a Gold 75K MVP on Alaska. This means that I get instant upgrades to first on fares in M,L,H,B, or Y class. Typically, these are premium economy fares which my organization will allow me to book for longer trips. The extra cost is about $50 to $70 which is easily justifiable for several hours of being productive in-flight.
However, within Concur these premium class fares are not available either on the website or if I call in. See below for an example from the Alaska website first without including my status and second after including it. The $358 fare is the current main cabin fare, but my status immediately upgrades me to premium for free. The $403 fare is the Premium Economy fare, but if I bump it up just one fare class to $417 it becomes an M-class fare and will instantly upgrade me to First if there is space (which there is in this case) or but me at the top of the upgrade list so I typically get upgraded. In this case the extra for regular First isn't much but often it's several hundred dollars more.
But in Concur I cannot access this benefit of my status which is REALLY frustrating since I'm required to book through Concur. See screenshot below:
The refundable main in this case might get an upgrade after I purchase and here is about the same price, but a) refundable is not in policy, and b) it's often quite a bit more than the lowest instant upgrade fare.
Can SAP please tell me if there is a way to access Alaska's premium economy seats, and if there isn't, please update the system to do so.
Thanks.
