The SAP Concur app crashes at start on Android 16

The day before yesterday I installed SAP Concur app on my Android 16 phone (Poco X7 Pro), but it crashes at every attempt to start it. It happens on both official version and current beta. The only thing I'm able to see is the crash pop-up from the OS, nothing from the app, even no splash screen.

 

This is the only application that crashes on my phone, all my bank and investment application work, including CitiManager (with card linked to Concur).

 

That's serious impediment on reporting expenses for a travel in my new job.

Concur added support for Android 15 in August 2025 (OS Support Updates for Android 15 and iOS 26 | SAP Help Portal).

However, I haven’t found any official mention of Android 16 yet.


Android 16 was officially released on June 10, 2025.

 

Perhaps Android 16 has a bug or compatibility issue with Concur.

 

Have you tried uninstalling the Concur app, restarting your phone, reinstalling the Concur app, and checking if you can log in?

I spent over 2h trying various way to make it work. Reinstalled, cleared cache, cleared all data of the app. Reinstalled thrice. Installed beta version, repleted cleaning memory. I clicked "Send report" on the crash popup over twenty times. I wander if there's any developer that's going to pick this up.

I tried searching about solution online and found below information. 

 

This sounds very much like an app compatibility issue between SAP Concur and Android 16 / Xiaomi HyperOS on the POCO X7 Pro, especially since:

  • the crash happens before even the splash screen,

  • both stable and beta builds fail identically,

  • other security-sensitive apps work normally,

  • reinstalling doesn’t help.

 

A few things are likely happening here:

  1. Android 16 introduced behavior/API changes.

  2. HyperOS on the Poco/Xiaomi side may enforce additional restrictions.

  3. Concur probably hasn’t fully validated against this combination yet.

What you can try immediately:

  • Disable “MIUI/HyperOS optimization” if that toggle exists in Developer Options.

  • Clear:

    • Google Play Services cache

    • Android System WebView cache

    • Concur storage/data

  • Update:

    • Android System WebView

    • Chrome

    • Google Play Services

  • Install an older APK version of Concur (2–4 releases back) from a reputable mirror like APKMirror.

  • Try launching after:

    • turning off battery optimization for Concur,

    • disabling Private DNS temporarily,

    • removing Work Profile / Island / Shelter if you use one.

On Xiaomi/POCO devices, some apps crash instantly because of HyperOS permission/runtime handling, especially right after major Android updates. There are also broader reports of app instability on the POCO X7 Pro platform itself. (Technobezz) - Please try these steps and see if issue gets resolved.

 

For your work situation, the practical workaround is probably:

  • use the web version temporarily:

  • upload receipts from the browser instead of the mobile app,

  • or use another Android device until SAP ships a fix.

You should also report it directly with Concur support by raising support case because this is likely device/OS-specific and reproducible:

When reporting, include:

  • POCO X7 Pro

  • HyperOS version

  • Android 16 build number

  • exact Concur app version

  • “crashes immediately before splash screen”

That's what I did finally. I burnt too much time and brain capacity to thing as simple as submitting receipts.

I tried to find such options and I couldn't - there's no technical support I can contact directly. I'm trying to chase my company if they contact them as the Administrator.
