Inquiry on SAP Concur/Cognos Audit Rules and Exception Statistics Reporting

Hi Team,

I would like to understand whether there is a SAP Concur or Cognos report that provides details of Audit Rules and Exceptions, including the conditions configured within each audit rule.

Specifically, we are looking for a report that includes:

  • Audit rule conditions and configuration details
  • Exception statistics and usage history
  • The last date an exception was triggered or used
  • Frequency and count of exception occurrences
  • Historical data covering the last 12 months

The objective is to identify audit rules and exceptions that have not been triggered or used during the past year and evaluate whether they are still required. If such a report is available, could you please provide the report name, location, and any guidance on how to access it?

@rkushwah to add to @asansolo audit rule conditions do not feed over to Cognos. However, you can create a cognos report on Exceptions and how many times they have been triggered. Sounds like the Control Center might be the better option as the information is right there without the need to build a report.

Thank you,

Hi @rkushwah thank you for the question. This information is now available through the new Control Center (in Expense Admin via the new Spend Administration Page).

Control Center is a centralized workspace within SAP Concur that gives Expense Administrators visibility into how their expense program is performing and clear guidance on what may need to change. It surfaces actionable insights, configuration health checks, and trend data so administrators can proactively manage their expense program rather than react to problems after they occur.

Key Benefits:

  • Centralized view of expense program health across four key metrics, audit rules health, report send backs, expense type configuration, unassigned corporate cards.
  • Proactive identification of configuration issues before they impact employees
  • AI-powered analysis and recommendations for audit rule optimization
  • Trend data to track improvement over time
  • Direct links to fix issues without navigating away from the dashboard

Specific to your question regarding audit rules, there is trigger count information available in the Control Center (and also now available on the Custom Audit Rules page), in addition to Audit Rule Health. The Control Center looks at all of your Audit Rules and any rule that hasn't been modified in the last two years or more, will be flagged as "Needs Attention", 2 years or less will be flagged as "Consider Update". There is also a check for Audit Rules with invalid references. These could be audit rules with outdated logic or missing values.

I will send you some additional information directly.
