How to select Expense Type for New York MTA subways and LIRR trains?

Hello everyone. I have a question about selecting which Expense Type to use for New York City Metro Transit Authority (MTA) subways and Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) trains.

Would these modes of transportations be considered Ground Transportation or Train/Rail transportation?

Hello @kn6932,

This usually depends on your company's Expense Type configuration. In many SAP Concur implementations, subway and local transit expenses are categorized as Ground Transportation, while rail services such as Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) are categorized as Train/Rail Transportation.

I would recommend checking your company's expense policy or contacting your Concur Administrator, as some organizations combine all public transit under a single expense type.

✔️Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions✔️

@kn6932 I agree with what @cjmarimo mentioned. Ground Transportation would be anything motorized on the road. I think Subway could fall into either category and Long Island Rail would definitely be Train/Rail.

Thank you,
