CONCUR Budget and Continuing Medical Education (CME)

I am working for a Healthcare Organization that is in the process of implementing Concur Travel & Expense.

We are exploring opportunities to utilize Concur's Budget tool to assist with managing our Physician's Continuing Medical Education (CME) Expenses/Spend.

We are interested to see if there are any other community users who may have implemented something similar (using CONCUR's Budget tool) that would be willing to share helpful information about their implementation, as well as any recommendations and lessons learned.

Hi @wrumph ,

We have implemented budget module for few of our customers. Let me know if you have any specific Q's, I will answer them. 

Regarding budget module, few of the advantages are:

• you can track budget on granular level such as legal entity, department, project or cost center level, expense type/category level etc. 
• You can set up threshold limit like 100%, 80% so that when threshold exceeds respective budget owner get automatically notified through email. 
• budget can be tracked for requests, expense, invoice, purchase request, invoice, employee level.
• easy to do budget amount adjustments as an owner or as an administrator.
• Budget approvers can view budget at the time of approver request/expense/PR/Invoice etc.
• Budget get auto released if request/expense is closed/deleted.
• Easy to access budget dashboard and overall year to date budget summary in form of chart diagrams.

Limitation:

• Budget items can be uploaded manually using budget import template or through API. It cannot be integrated using SFTP flat file method as there is no budget import job available.
