I am a “Hoosier Gone Global.” A scholarship kid, I received a B.A. in English and Environmental Science from Baylor University, then served in the U. S. Peace Corps in Kazakhstan, learning Russian while supporting KazMicrofinance, which was the first direct lending project to improve rural credit access in Central Asia. Thanks to a full fellowship, I next earned a M. A. in Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico while teaching on the Navajo Reservation, learning beginner Dine and Spanish. After teaching and raising two daughters, I earned an MBA in Finance & Marketing from the University of Notre Dame. Since the COVID pandemic in 2022, I have worked as a Product Training Specialist at Allison Transmission. Outside of work, I'm passionate about giving back to my community and helping others. I volunteer with STEM Goes Red | Go Red for Women and Indy Reads to help build literacy, English language, and job readiness skills. A Stage-3-colon-cancer survivor, outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, hiking, cooking, running, attending live music events, and working in my native plant garden (Zone 6a).
