Today, many customers use the Request Assistant feature in Concur Request to estimate their travel costs, making the pre-travel request process quick and easy. We're excited to announce that Request Assistant will be activated for a final group of Concur Request users on May 25, 2026.
We began rolling this feature out to customers in a phased process starting last year. On May 25, 2026, the final group of Concur Request customers will have the Request Assistant feature activated. If your organization is part of this group, Concur Request administrators will be notified through in-product messaging when they log into SAP Concur solutions starting around two weeks before the activation date.
Don't forget that Request Assistant can be easily self-activated at any time. If you wish to take advantage of the feature sooner, we encourage you to activate it by following the steps in the documentation below.
The power of Request Assistant
Request Assistant harnesses the power of generative AI paired with SAP Concur's benchmark data to deliver intelligent cost estimates for various travel-related expenses, including flights or trains, hotels, taxis, car rentals, and meals. This means your users will enjoy quick, accurate estimates, and they can conveniently adjust parameters such as hotel ratings or flight stops with updates to the costs.
What’s new with Request Assistant?
We've enhanced Request Assistant with several new updates:
- Real-time cost estimates for flights and hotels: Estimates for flights and hotels are now aligned with Concur Travel's real-time data, ensuring precision and efficiency (*this requires the new Concur Travel). If you do not use the new Concur Travel, flight cost estimates are based on publicly available generative AI results from trusted SAP large language model (LLM) partner data.
- Meal estimates: These estimates are powered by benchmark data from our Verify solution for accurate budgeting or from your specific configuration for per diem rates.
- Car rental estimates: Car rental estimates are based on publicly available generative AI results from trusted SAP large language model (LLM) partner data.
- Enhanced policy compliance: Helping estimates align with your company's travel policies, such as flight class restrictions. (*Requires Concur Travel)
Flexibility for Administrators and End Users
Administrators can easily enable or disable the Request Cost Estimate Assistant setting for any request policy at any time, ensuring you have control over its use in your organization. You can find the instructions on how to enable or disable the feature here:
End users also have the option to toggle this feature on or off when creating a request, giving them the freedom to manage their travel expense forecasts.
