ExpenseIt is your travel companion that uses cutting-edge AI technology to convert receipts into expense entries. Forget about the clutter of paper receipts or the tedious task of manual entries and itemizations. With ExpenseIt, travelers simply snap photos of their receipts as they receive them, upload digital receipts on the web, or forward emails to receipts@concur.com, and ExpenseIt transforms the receipts into accurate expense entries. Whether you’re at a conference, business lunch, or traveling across the globe, it ensures your expenses are recorded swiftly and accurately. Additionally, ExpenseIt enables delegation capabilities, allowing users to assign receipt processing tasks to trusted colleagues or assistants, streamlining expense management even further.
What's New?
A new, embedded Joule Agent called the Receipt Analysis Agent transforms the capabilities of ExpenseIt. While others are trying to capture what’s on the receipt, ExpenseIt’s Receipt Analysis Agent can identify what’s missing:
- Enhanced data inference: The Receipt Analysis Agent can infer missing receipt information—such as location, vendor, or expense type—by analyzing surrounding contextual clues and user-specific data. This advancement represents a significant leap forward in augmenting traditional data capture methods.
- Precision using historical data: By leveraging user history, ExpenseIt can predict expense types with higher accuracy, refining the process as it learns from past submissions.
- Advanced calculations: Even when receipt totals are missing or difficult to decipher, ExpenseIt sums up the line items to find the receipt total.
A real-world example
Imagine this: you have a receipt from lunch that doesn’t include the restaurant’s address. The Receipt Analysis Agent jumps into action, analyzing contextual clues such as the vendor’s name, expense types, your trip itinerary data from Concur Travel, and transaction dates. In seconds, ExpenseIt’s Receipt Analysis Agent determines that the transaction coincides with your business trip to Paris, Texas—the city of cowboys, not cabarets—the expense type appears to be lunch, and the vendor’s name matches a restaurant near your hotel. With this contextual data, the agents are able to find the restaurant address and add the right Paris to your expense entry. And all of this is done for you, no manual work required.
Feature availability
Starting in late October and continuing through December 2025, this agentic AI upgrade will progressively roll out to our customers. Rest assured, this transition requires no extra steps from administrators or end users, and there will be no disruption to ExpenseIt’s service. Users familiar with the solution may notice a distinct improvement in the accuracy and comprehensiveness of their receipt capture.
This upgrade will be automatically available at no extra charge to all ExpenseIt customers—except those on the CCPS data center.
