Building on the March 2025 launch of real-time notifications for Mastercard users, we are excited to announce dynamic card management for plastic and virtual cards, designed to enhance how businesses use Concur Expense to manage employee spending through corporate credit card programs.

This includes two distinct features—issuing virtual cards and managing plastic cards—each offering tailored capabilities to meet different organizational needs. By enabling more spend to shift from personal or out-of-pocket methods to corporate cards, these enhancements help organizations streamline expense workflows and reduce reimbursement overhead. Additionally, by capturing a greater share of total spend on corporate cards, businesses can unlock the full potential of their card rebate programs and drive greater financial value.

Dynamic card management for virtual cards:
The virtual cards feature allows organizations to issue and manage virtual corporate credit cards directly within the SAP Concur platform. Employees can request, use, and manage virtual cards seamlessly within their SAP Concur experience. This feature is ideal for organizations looking to streamline card issuance and maintain policy-driven spend oversight.

Dynamic card management for plastic cards:
The plastic corporate credit cards feature enables organizations to confidently issue more corporate cards by placing the corporate cards into deactivated status and requiring manager approval to reactivate the corporate card.
Employees can request to reactivate their corporate card seamlessly within their SAP Concur experience. This feature is ideal for organizations seeking greater control and management over their existing corporate card programs.

Whether your organization enables just one of these features, or both, you instantly realize the following benefits:

  • Greater control over employee spending
By shifting more transactions from personal/out-of-pocket methods to corporate cards, organizations gain real-time visibility into spend, reduce reimbursement delays, and ensure purchases align with approved budgets.
  • Improved compliance with company policies
All spend is approved before it happens. Reducing any surprises during the expense report approval workflow.
  • Enhanced convenience for employees requesting and using cards
Employees can easily request to generate a virtual card or unlock plastic cards that are tailored to their needs, access them instantly, and begin using them without delays. By helping your employees utilize automated expense creation and eliminating manual reimbursement processes, your employees experience reduced administrative overhead and a more seamless spend management workflow.

These features are available across Concur Expense web and mobile platforms, providing flexibility and control for administrators and finance teams. Administrators can turn on the feature in the Company Card Settings.

Important Notes

  • This feature is currently only available for HSBC Bank and Mastercard corporate credit cards issued in the US region. There are plans to expand availability in the future.
  • Implementation of this change in the Concur Cloud for Public Sector environment is not currently planned. Implementation in the Concur Cloud for Public Sector environment will be considered in the future.
