Another Concur Update - Side Navigation

Looks like we have another UI change on the Concur web browser now featuring less screen real estate!  Due to a side bar navigation implementation, instead of allllll the empty gray area at the top of the screen where these navigation buttons were, you now get a useless gray bar on the left side of your screen too! I have two questions, who thought of this awful idea, and who approved it? Thanks

I find the new layout to be an impediment.  I can't see the information on the side and I have to scroll over to click approve.  If there was a way to shrink the left side navigation it would be fine.  This is the worst update ever!   I figured out how to shrink the navigation on the left side.  The only way to fix it that I have found is to make the screen percentage smaller, but that isn't a good fix because the font is too small.

Exactly! But hey, the head of the user experience team says that it "actually increases your screen real estate." He or she should get his or her eyes checked.

Can you try to post a screenshot and reply to KevinD's message above? For some reason, I can't post screenshots due to some non-de script billion dollar company error message. Just need to show the new side navigation and the now empty top gray bar.

This is what I see with the navigation bar minimized.  I can make the percentage of the screen smaller, but then I can't look at it easily.  This is from the processor area, but it is much worse on the approving an expense side.

Thank you for posting the screenshot! How can anyone look at this screenshot, see all the empty top bar space next to the SAP Concur logo, and then confidently say that ADDING a sidebar INCREASED screen real estate? Just put the nav buttons on the top empty bar!

I think I may have found a solution to this.  I went to the 3 dots at the upper right of my screen.  Scroll down and click on "Settings".  On the left side menu go to "Appearance"  You should get a screen that looks like this:

Go down to Page Zoom and change it to like 90 %.  The whole page should now be visible.  It seems to be sticking and you don't have any change to the size of the type.  Hope this may help someone!

Well, I thought it was working, but after logging out and going back it, it didn't stick.  And I had to do it on each screen it happened to which then changed the other screens.  I should have tested a bit more, sorry for the confusion.

Also after the update, I can no longer use the send to excel button and get an excel report on some of the exports I needed.

@KevinD It currently reduces the working area, especially on laptop screens. Could the toolbar be moved from the left margin to the top? This change would greatly improve usability for smaller displays.

@cjmarimo you should post this in the Admin Group. The General Forum doesn't get as much traffic and the traffic is mainly end users and they aren't allowed to vote.
