API to Determine where a Request or Expense is in the Workflow

Does a v4 API exist that will allow us to know where a request or expense report is in the workflow?

Depending on where the approval workflow is, we have a need to take action externally.  Concur allows us to make external callouts after submission and pre-extract, but there doesn't seem to be a way for the external system to be able to differentiate unless an API exist for us to see which workflow step the transaction is at.

@crystalreports We think the API you're looking for is the Event Subscription Service v4. This can trigger an event for any status change in an expense report, without any configuration changes.
