How to book an unauthorized flight

Example: Unauthorized flight ... journey duration 7 hours .... XY $
Allowed flight X transfers plus 16 hours on the way ...... 3x more XY $
Why is it forbidden?
How should I behave?
Who to ask for help?
It seems illogical.

Unauthorized flight....Thought "Not Allowed"

@PG in your example, what said that the first option was unauthorized? Did you receive any type of message or was there something in the booking tool that flagged it as unauthorized? Can you provide a screenshot? 

There are several factors that could cause option 1 to not be allowed, but it all depends on how your company set up their travel rules in SAP Concur.
