Request to Enable Train Travel Option (Paris → Barcelona) in Concur

Hello everyone,

My colleague and I need to travel to a workshop in Barcelona end of February. We have already booked our hotel, but when trying to book our trip in Concur, the only travel option displayed is a flight.
The direct train from Paris to Barcelona (Paris Gare de Lyon => Barcelona), which does exist, is not shown at all.

My colleague contacted Concur Support and was told this was due to Nestlé’s travel policy, which apparently does not allow train travel for this destination.

However, taking the train would be highly beneficial:

• it is direct and arrives right in the city centre of Barcelona,
• it provides a more comfortable and productive travel environment,
• and importantly, it has a much lower carbon footprint compared to flying.

👉 Does anyone know how this can be updated in Concur?
👉 Who should we contact to request adding train options or to obtain an exception?

@Dine1977 Travel rules are put in place by your company, so SAP Concur has not control over this. My guess is if your company put the rule in place, it is for a reason and they want you to not take the train. I don't know why, but that is what the rules are for. Now, you could ask your direct managers to see if they can get approval for you to travel by train, but to book it, you would need to contact your company's travel agency directly. 

I'm not sure if your company would lift the rule for a one-off booking, if I'm being completely honest. I tried to find out who your Travel Admin is, but I couldn't find a name. Maybe your manager will know.
