New Concur Travel AI Recommendations in Flight Search Results - Out of Policy

When testing the new AI which recommends flights in the air search results, I noticed that the AI is recommending flights based on whether there is a loyalty program listed in someone's profile. For instance, when I made a search on my profile, I was recommended only American Airlines flights even though there were cheaper flights on other airlines we have contracts with. This is due to me having an American Airlines loyalty program listed in my profile. We have policy which cannot be translated into a rule in the rule builder, such as employees not choosing flights based on brand loyalty, yet this new AI encourages them to do so.

Additionally, I have noticed that the recommendations will recommend out-of-policy flights if Anytime time preference is selected for the search. Specifically, policies relating to LLF as the LLF is not presented in the flight search results until the last page for searches that do not include a time preference. For example, I added an American Airlines and Delta frequent traveler program to my profile, then searched for flights from CMH to ORD with no time preference. The three AI recommendations displayed were AA and DL, even though UA was lower and even though the DL flight was out of policy due to it being over $100 USD the LLF.

@eustacia_studer did you see the replies to your post in the admin group? If not, there are some. Not sure why the double posting. 😉

You likely won't get replies from this forum as it is more trafficked by end users and not those work with travel policy.

Thank you,

@KevinD I double posted because I was not sure whether the admin group or the Concur Travel Forum were the best place to post to engage with people who are also experiencing this frustration. I did read the response to my post on the admin group, and I am not sure if you saw my response. I thought this might have been for people working with Concur Travel specifically and not admins in general for all of SAP Concur products. I will keep that in mind going forward.

@eustacia_studer Makes sense. Anything to do with policies, rules, configurations, processes, are best asked in the Admin Group. The Travel Forum tends to be visited more by end users and those looking for help with travel bookings.

Thank you for posting and being a member of the Community. 🙂
