How do I cancel a trip, after I departed for it?

I had booked my trip and was about to attend a HAZMAT course.  However, upon arrival to the class location, a letter posted on the door said the class was cancelled due to the government shutdown.  I was guided by my job leader to return and did so.  I had a hotel and rental booked.  I have the receipts.  Do I need to cancel the trip in Concur, and if so, will that affect how I expense things on a report?  If there are other steps I must do, what are they?  Thank you!

No, you do not need to cancel a past dated trip in Concur.  In fact, you will not be able to cancel a past dated reservation.  It sounds like you had already picked up the rental car, but did you reach out to the hotel to cancel the stay?  You will likely be charged a no-show fee or late cancellation fee.  If you used a corporate credit card, the charges will come into Concur as usual, then you can submit an expense report to reconcile the account.  If you paid out of pocket, you should still be able to submit for reimbursement as this is no fault of your own, but that is subject to your company's policy.  You'll need receipts for whatever charges did occur.

I had already picked up the rental and turned it in after the class was cancelled.  The hotel was similar, checked out the day I found out the class was cancelled.  Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post!  I am currently waiting on the rental expense to post before doing my expense report.
