Travel expense

I am now a new Nutrition Services Manager working from home. I drove to a clinic for a meeting. When I attempt to submit my travel expense for that mileage (155 miles round trip), I get an alert that says deduct commute. I do not have an office and I am no longer assigned to a clinic.  I went to my profile and changed office address to my home address but the system will not allow me to change my telecommuter status. I check the box to deduct commute but I keep getting the alert. My Senior Manager and Senior Director were both asked how to correct  this issue and they advised me to ask in this forum. Please help!
