Solved: This approval step is skipped because the selected...

Our users have their submitted reports returned to them due to the following error:

"This approval step is skipped because the selected approver is no longer authorized to approve reports."

However, we checked the approvers and their manager has the approver role enabled.

What could be wrong here?

@fdjaja could you send me a private message with the following:

1. Full name of an employee whose report was returned with this error

2. The name of this employee's direct manager who should be approving the report.
