Import Users

Couple (hopefully) quick questions about the Import Users from Spreadsheet function.

1. When using the Import Users from Spreadsheet option - how are the NEW/added employees notified?

2. What is the initial password for those users added from a spreadsheet - do the Admins then need to go in to each user individually and create an initial password?

Hello @aburris 

1. When you use the import function, employees are not informed.
2. Random password is set and needs to be reset by employee using 'Forgot password' option available during login

@rohanpatil To clarify for my understanding on the 2nd question:

The Admin can use the import tool to create the users, but will then need to go into each user individually to set a random password.

There is no way to create an initial password at the step of importing new users?

I will refer to information outlined in the employee import to conclude that there is no other option

Revision history: Updated password information to clarify that as of August 2, 2023 password provisioning using the import is no longer supported. Any values provided in the password fields will be ignored. All new users will be given a randomly generated password and will need to update their password on first login.

Page 5: If a blank password in provisioned, the user must follow the “Forgot Password” process on first sign in.

The other option is that you set up a password post creation - using admin interface and communicate the same to the user(s)
