How do you know who gets a corporate card and who doesn't?

Review expenses from non-card holders and establish a threshold for obtaining a corporate card (e.g. all those submitting more than USD $1,000 annually should have a corporate card).

We give Corporate Credit Cards to employees who estimate they will underake 6 return trips in the upcoming 12 months and this is supported by their Director or above. For non travellers like procurement staff they must have a written business requirement approved by their Director or above to obtain a Corporate Card.

We encourage employees to use the corporate card. Our $3,000 annual threshold by design is low and supports this effort.

If you travel even once a year, we require the associate to get a corporate card.  If you are regularly incurring expenses on behalf of the company, we recommend getting the corporate card.

If you travel, even once, you qualify for a corporate card.

If you are asked to make purchases that can't be done through our purchasing department then you need to use the corporate card.

It's more to do with the employee spending their own money than anything else. $20 could be a lot to some people so the amount is irrelevant. No employee should be fronting the company money, regardless of amount.

If there are ways to make purchases that don't come out of pocket and don't require applying for a card then those are preferable, otherwise they can get a card.
