Unable to complete travel expense report - red flag

Hi,

For the past 3 months, I have been trying to finalize my expense report without success. I uploaded the corresponding boarding passes as required, I can even see them, but Concur keeps showing a red trinagle with a message asking me to upload the boarding pass.

 

I can submit the expense report to my manager, but he is unable to approve it.

 

What can be exactly the issue here? I will be crazy with this tool!

Hi @manu_1968 ,

 

Can you please provide a screenshot of warning message. Also, would like to know why manager is unable to approve your expense report. Is he/she getting any error message or facing issue while approving report or not getting report in his/her queue for approval?

 

In Concur there two types of alerts:

  • Yellow Warning - It is a soft warning msg. This does not restrict user from submitting a report.
  • Red Warning - It is a hard stop msg. This is used to restrict user from report submission. This won't get resolved unless required actions has been taken by the user.

these look to be only warnings which should not stop the report from being submitted but that would depend on the exception level code you have setup in your site.  We have several warnings within our site but the report can still be submitted and processed as these warnings are used for reporting puposes.

In my opinion Concur should not show any warning as I have uploaded the boarding passes, I think this is a software bug and real failure root cause, indepent of exception levels set.

@manu_1968 from what I see in your site, these warning should go away when you have uploaded the boarding pass, added a comment then saved the expense. I'm not sure why they are not. As for the approver not having the approve button, that is not expected behavior. I can see that you have two approvers assigned. I can see that your first approver is able to approve the report. 

 

Could you submit your report again and after the first approver approves it, have your second approver open the report and take a screenshot of the Approve button not being active, that would be great. You should be able to copy the screenshot and paste it into your reply here. 

 

From what I saw, the workflow steps are correct and the second approver should be able to approve.

Hi @manu_1968 ,

 

If approve button is disabled/not visible, then below two could be reasons:

 

1. Approver is acting as someone's delegate and delegator has not given 'can approve' permission. Hence approver might be able to see report but not able to approve it. You can check this with the respective approver. Also, would suggest to first check approver name under report details >> 'report timeline' section and check if the same person is getting that report for approval or approver has assigned someone as delegate for this activity to take actions on behalf of him/her. Please check with approver regarding the same.

2. If approver has NOT assigned anyone as delegate and still not able to approve it then in backend workflow configuration, your site administrator might have not enabled 'approve' action for manager approval step. Refer sample screenshot given below. However, I don't think so this could be the reason in your case as this step is applicable for all approvers, so every approver could have faced this issue till now. If first scenario is not applicable then, would suggest to reach out to your Concur Administrator and check below settings. PoojaKumatkar_0-1736177180504.png
