S/4HANA 2023 upgrade : Only one Concur Expense Productive Tenant

Hello,

We are upgrading our SAP S/4HANA on Rise Private Cloud,  to version 2023 FPS02 across DEV, QAS, and PRD environments.

However, there is only a unique Productive Cloud Concur Expanse tenant running in production (Meaning connected solely to PRD S/4HANA)  and managers are unwilling to purchase a separate test tenant. How can we effectively test Concur functionalities before waiting for the upgrade of the S/4HANA production environment?

I had a look at the sap note 3233748 - SAP S/4HANA 2023 and the Concur Integration, with the dozen of sap correctives notes, which makes us quite nervous.

I have read in this forum that it might be possible to configure tests users in the Productive tenant like here

But I am not familiar with Concur, is it a setup that is valid in our current setup ? Conencting S/4HANA QAS and PRD to the same Productive Concur Expense Tenant, but targeting different users ? Is it something that is being done by others customers ?  Thank you

@Necronomicon what functionalities are you looking to test? Can you provide me some examples please?

You can create profiles in SAP Concur that are Test Users and you can set up a Test Group. This allows you to apply audit rules, workflows and other things to the test group and test users to see if they are working correctly before applying them to actual users.

I'll await your reply to see some examples of the functionalities you are looking to test.

Thank you,
Kevin

Thank you @KevinD   for your prompt reply,

This is the answer I received :

From SAP to Concur

  • Cost center data (CC)

  • Internal order data (which may be what they mean by OTP)

  • Project WBS elements

  • Approval workflows and signatories

From concur to SAP

  • Financial posting of expense reports

  • Transaction data for accounting entries

  • Potential document attachments

I don't know if that answer your questions.

Is it possible then to plug S/4HANA 2023 QAS and PRD to the same Productive Tenant to test those functionalities and the communication, this without endangering Productive2025-03-14_10-05-53.jpg flows ?   Thanks

@Necronomicon so they are looking more for testing the connection between SAP to SAP Concur. That's not my area of expertise as I don't work with our S4/Hana or the SAP side of things.

The best option is to speak to your SAP Concur Customer Success Partner and have them get you in contact with someone at SAP that can better speak about what you are looking to do. My area of expertise is with the SAP Concur tool itself.

Maybe someone else that reads this thread has more information.

Thank you,
