Refunded flight ticket

I have a negative balance on my corporate credit card due to a refunded flight ticket that was cancelled by Westjet airlines due to a pilot strike. I thought I could use to for future business travel on the same project but now that project has been cancelled.

Can I now use that credit for a different program ?

@Sravangudi we don't know your company policy regarding this. I would suggest speaking with your direct manager to see if it is allowed. I believe the credit is in your name, so I would think your company would allow this, but i cannot say for certain.

Thank you,

Kevin,

Thanks for your response. Is there a way to get a cash refund if the program is closed ?

@Sravangudi If the ticket was canceled and the fair was refundable, then you would need to ask the Airline for a refund. If the ticket wasn't refundable, you would have a credit with them.

The credit is in your name, so I think it could be used for any work related travel. The airfare isn't tied to any specific project unless there was something in the booking process that asked you to choose a project.

My recommendation is to speak with your direct manager to see how your company handles these types of situations.

Kevin,

So the only way to take advantage of that negative balance on my credit card is to use it for a different way. There is no way to get cash refunded back to Honeywell. Correct ?
