Manage Users - Import Error

Hello,

I exported the "Manage Users" template, made changes to the following:

  1. State/Province
  2. ADP Company Code (Custom5Code)
  3. Expense Approver Employee ID
  4. Can Approve Expense Reports
  5. Expense Approver Limit Authority

Now, when I am attempting to upload the template, I receive the following error: Error in processing uploaded file. ConcurEmployeeImportTemplate.xlsx: an unknown error has occurred.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you resolve this issue.

@lbettis unfortunately, without seeing the actual completed template, we won't be able to provide any help. The other thing about this is I would ask you to share a screenshot of the template, but we don't want you sharing any personal information.

Thank you,
Kevin

hello @lbettis ,

Based on the fields you modified, I suggest reviewing the following:

  • The first two rows of the file must not be deleted or modified, because they contain metadata used to validate the import. If they are altered, a generic error like the one you received may appear.
  • Mandatory fields must be completed. Since you modified several values, it’s possible that one of them does not meet the internal validation requirements.
  • Check the State/Province codes: they must use valid 2- or 3‑character codes.
  • Verify that the “Expense Approver Employee ID” exists and has the correct role.
  • Make sure you are not exceeding 1,000 records. If you exceed this limit, you will need to import the file in parts.

Thank you @KevinD and @cjmarimo. I did review the template with our implementation coach earlier this morning, and there were no causes identified. There have not been any deleted rows, and all mandatory fields were entered. Only data that is populated by a column category was added.

I even attempted to download a new template and updated only 1 column with 1 user. The import error still occurred.

Hi @lbettis ,

Could you please switch back to the legacy UI and try uploading the import file again? Also, download a fresh template, populate it with the required values, and attempt the upload. Let’s check if it works.
