How quickly does an expenditure appear on the app?

I typically use the app to take a photo & upload as soon as I’m given a receipt.

Is this recommended practice or is it better to wait for the credit card entry to appear on the app ? And if so how long does this typically take ie one/three working days etc ?

@Borischelski hello there. I can't really say what is recommended practice as everyone has their own way of doing things. Some might say to wait for transactions to appear, then use the app to upload receipts, while others would say the opposite.

Are you using the ExpenseIt feature in the app? I'm asking because that determines if the receipt will auto-match to company card transactions or not. My first answer below is if you are using the ExpenseIt feature.

When I was in training, this is what I would suggest. Company card transactions typically take about three days to appear in SAP Concur. When using the app for receipts (using the ExpenseIt feature) those receipt/entries will be uploaded in two minutes or less. If you know the receipt is for a company card transaction, then don't do anything with the uploaded receipt. Do not add it to a report, let it sit there. When the card transaction comes in, it will get matched to the receipt/entry that was created by the ExpenseIt feature.

Now, if you don't have the ExpenseIt feature turned on, what I would suggest is to take pictures of your receipts outside of the mobile app. Store the receipt image on your phone. I recommend taking the picture of the receipt as soon as you receive the receipt. Keep the image in your photo library. When the company card transaction comes in, add it to your report. Once added, you will see the option to add a receipt. You will see a few options for adding the receipt, one of which should say Upload Photo. This will allow you to pull the receipt image from your phone's photo library.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you,
Kevin

Hi,

thanks for your responses.

Yes I have the Expensit app turned on but it doesn’t appear to match the uploaded photos to the individual payment.

Might there be a discrepancy reflecting my credit card appears in pound sterling & the payments are in a different overseas currency.

@Borischelski

We have ExpenseIt enabled and always encourage our cardholders to capture receipts via the Concur mobile app as soon as possible, and not to wait for the card transaction to appear. If nothing else, it means they don't need to worry about losing the hard-copy receipt.

If it doesn't match the ExpenseIt entry, you will have to match them.  There may be a date issue if a foreign currency and you can change the ExpenseIt entry, then match.

Just for info, we use Amex and it takes 3-4 days for the Amex info to be seen in Concur.
