Error inhibiting submission of expense report: The Airline Fee Type is not typically allowed.

hi there,

I'm unable to submit my expense report due to the following error:

The Airline Fee Type is not typically allowed. You must mark the transaction as a Personal Expense or provide a justification in the Comments field before you will be permitted to submit this expense report

It relates to a bag fee for a flight. I must have omitted to purchase a checked in bag when I was booking the flight.

Do you know how I can proceed?

thanks

Julie

Hi  @JLynch10

Topic: Error inhibiting submission of expense report: The Airline Fee Type is not typically allowed.

Please see the below. Hope this helps.
——-

This error is triggered by a Company-Configured Audit Rule restricting certain Airline Fees including Checked Baggage.

Actions:

  1. Go to Expense à Open Expense Report.
  2. Select the Baggage Fee Transaction.
  3. Verify the Expense Type and Airline Fee Type are correct.
  4. In the Comments field, explain why the checked baggage fee was necessary.
  5. Click Save Expense.
  6. Resubmit the Expense Report.

Mark the expense as Personal (Do Not Reimburse) only if it is not eligible for reimbursement.

The error message explicitly permits either a justification or classification as Personal.

A justification may clear the submission block, but it does not guarantee reimbursement approval.

Thanks & Regards
