Deduct Commute Mileage Option

Hello, 

We recently had an employee question if they are required to use the "deduct commute" option when submitting mileage.  Looking into it a little further it seems like some of our departments require everyone to use it, and some departments do not require it to be used. I was just curious if other companies require it universally, or in only certain situations, etc.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

@mary_reiter I think if an employee is listed as a fully remote employee, this would not apply. If they are an in-office employee then I can see it being applicable to deduct commute. Others seem to have different rules for their sales people who are constantly on the road meeting with customers and potential customers.
