Daily Meal Allowance

Hi All,

We have been exploring the concept of daily meal reimbursement and am looking for some feedback from other companies on how this has been managed in their respective T&E policies. The idea is to combine breakfast, lunch, and dinner allowances into a single daily allowance that users can utilize as needed.

I am particularly interested in understanding how this policy is managed across different locations. For instance, how does it differ for a user working on client work in the UK compared to someone in Switzerland?

Any insights or feedback you could provide on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

@Kofi I know we have many customers that user our Travel Allowance option that can break down the amounts travelers are allowed by breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another option would be to create a Daily Allowance expense type and set a limit on this expense type using an Audit Rule. That way users cannot submit an amount higher than the allowable daily limit or it will get flagged. I know it isn't combining all three meals, but you can also use an audit rule that will look at the expense types Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and not allow the total of those three meals combined be over a certain amount.

These limits can be set by currencies as well to account for some currencies having higher worth than others.

Thank you,

Thank you @KevinD , when you say Travel Allowance, is that like a per diem? I am keen to know if there are clients in UK that uses Travel Allowance. Or if they are using other ways other than having a per diem.

@Kofi travel allowance is a per diem. Also called Daily Allowance. I would suggest posting in the Admin Group about this. This product forum is read more by end users and not those who are site admins. The admin group is more likely to get you some replies.
