Cognos 11 Reports not capturing all data

Hi all

 

I've been trying to run a report which was built in to the Cognos 11 web application. I am trying to generate a report in excel which captures all employee VAT Reclaim Amounts. However the reporting system has so much missing data it is unusable. Does anyone know how to generate a report which captures all the data?

 

The steps I took were: 

  • Team Content -> *Company Name* -> VAT Reclaimed Amounts with employee name ->
  • Select the relevant dates -> Amount Type: Expensed -> Tax Authorities: IE Tax Authority and United Kingdom ->
  • Downloaded the Excel Data file

The data depending, on the year, downloads with some users missing some of their expenses, some users missing completely, and one year with only 200 rows, when there should be a couple of thousand rows.

 

Does anyone know how to capture all the data? Or is there a better report to run? One that can even capture data entered by the users which we cannot claim VAT on so I can analyze it.

 

I have contacted Concur support and they've been useless. So I'm hoping someone here can give me some better advice.

Hi @PeterL1 ,

 

Can you try downloading data into Excel format instead of Excel data. If data is more than one pages then it will give you all pages data into excel. 

 

After doing this if you still get data into one page only then it means only those many records are there as per the report configured by you.

Hi @PoojaKumatkar 

 

I tried that and I got the same number of user entries as when I clicked Excel Data download.  Is there any reason a report like this would be configured to ignore the vast majority of the data? Are you able to modify reports like this? I should add I am using the Concur Analysis, not Concur BI Analysis, under the Expense dropdown,  as the BI Analysis is not available to me.

@PeterL1 I tried running the report with dates of July 1 through Dec 31 2024 and didn't get any data. I tried again with dates Jan 1 through Dec 31 2024 and it returned only a couple of rows of data. 

 

I'm not sure why it isn't pulling in the data. I'm going to have to ask around a bit on this one.

Hi @KevinD 

 

Thanks for trying. It seems according to @PoojaKumatkar that the report I am trying to run is a custom report. It may have been created by the concur team when my company joined the platform. I've been in contact with the support and they get the same results as me. They said they have passed the issue on to their Report Writing team but they are slow to respond. I'm not sure there is much else that can be done without going through them.

@PeterL1 yes, the VAT Reclaim report is a Standard Report. Looks like someone edited it to include employee name. I know several people on the Reporting team and they are great. I'm pretty confident they can figure something out.
