Request ID

How would an approver use the request ID to search past reports.

I'm not sure what you need

 

But I will explain to you what the need is in my company and how we approach it, when an approver wants to know what they have approved, they go to Approvals:

Then you have the Request or Expenses options. Each option has its own filters.

In my personal opinion there is a lack of filters, and I have already created an improvement request on the Customer Influence website for them to improve them: Improvement Request Details - Customer Influence (sap.com)- APPROVERS-Add more selection filters in ...
