Changes - Ticket Reissue

For a USA config/point of sale - do you allow online changes/cancellations?
We used to allow online changes in our previous tool - all it does is send the exchange info to the TMC for issuance.

In our case we are a CTD and it's our automation.

My question is how reliable have you found this....

If it matters we use SABRE as the GDS.

Hi there, we are on Amadeus, also a CTD, and we have post-ticketing changes enabled in Concur Travel.  It's been a struggle.   In our experience, post-ticketing changes only apply to a very small percentage of the tickets.  Here are some known examples of tickets that cannot be changed in Concur, agent intervention is required:    

  1. You have already taken your outbound flight
  2. You have already made a change to your flight
  3. You have purchased Early Bird Check-in on your Southwest flight and are within 36 hours of your departure
  4. You are already checked in for your flight
  5. Your flights have been upgraded or changed already by the airline
  6. Your arrival airport is different than your departure airport (arrive into JFK, depart out of LGA, for example)

For the ticket changes that Concur can handle, they land on a queue for an agent to finish up.   We've found that oftentimes, Concur does not price the new ticket in the lowest fare.  We have to reprice it, and then redo the exchange.   Hopefully, this is an area they working to improve.
